In both Reading and Writing Workshop, we will follow this format.
Some class periods will be adjusted due to Media Center check-out time, testing, or other special circumstances, but this basic schedule will be our goal each day in Language Arts class.

1. Mini-Lesson (10 minutes)
  • Students sit up front on carpet with their notebooks
  • Students remain very focused and engaged
  • Ms. Leach introduces the strategy and gives examples
2. Independent Practice (35 minutes)
  • Students return to their seats and work on their own reading/writing while applying the new strategy learned
  • Ms. Leach confers with students as they work to re-teach, encourage, and set goals with individuals
3. Share (5 minutes)
  • Students share what they tried out (related to today's mini-lesson) - positivity!
